Thanks for the link. I particularly like the "scaffolding" metaphor. I know nothing about writing fiction, but I'm trying to pound out another paper here and that's a reassuring reminder to get something down and worry about pretty later. Scaffolding. (mentally files that next to "shitty first drafts.")
