Today is going to be a good day. The GRD and the Complaint Department I have no plans except hanging around doing housework (oh, my god, the needful housework) and then in the afternoon and evening, working on our page proofs a little. So far I've washed dishes, wiped down the counters and the table, made the bed, and started laundry. Also on the agenda is vacuuming, finishing the laundry, and--you know--stuff. Like you do.

I should probably also do some weeding. And clean the catbox.

That's the unrelenting glamor of the literary life, right there. That, and cat vomit.

This sounds uncannily like my day: Bed-making. Check. Laundry. Check. Weeding. Check. Cat vomit. Check.

I knew I was meant to be a writer...

Except I fail at writing anything anyone wants to read. Maybe it's the unrelenting glamour of the creative life in general?

You just listed several of my main reasons for needing, yes NEEDING a housekeeper/majordomo/cleaning service/cabana boy. I don't mind the laundry and the boy does the bathrooms but the rest...ugh. And yes, Marlowe hairballed in the kitchen this morning.

Cat vomit is why the living room rug has the base shade of yellowish-tan that it does--I bought it that way on purpose. I did not explain to the nice salesman who was helping me that I was looking for a rug in a specific color to hide cat vomit stains, though, so it took a little while to get him to understand what I was looking for.

I think you should do this up as a tee shirt and everyone in this crazy life would probably buy the thing.
