new england quiet before the work
Before I head back to the comma mines to get to page 500, I had some awesome news today, resulting in cake and gin cocktails.

Tor will be publishing my Heroic Hookers Of The Outermost Wild West novel, Karen Memory, probably in 2015.

Via arcaedia, to casacorona, etc.

WIKTORY!

This means I don't have to write a book proposal this summer, and also that I'm not unemployed as of May 1st. *g*

Also, I will be speaking at the ALA conference in Chicago in June, between 4th Street and ConVergence.

And due to scheduling conflicts, there is a Shadow Unit schedule rejigger. The February episode will be airing in March, which means the remaining four episodes after that will all be pushed back a month apiece.

Which means its time for an updated Honeydew....

I thought about that when I was typing it, and didn't care enough to rewrite the whole sentence.

Chocolate cake, just from a box, though my mom made real frosting. And a Bohemian, and a Negroni.

Yay mom! When your mom makes the frosting, it's a party...

(but I still want to compose a cake-and-gin cocktail...)

Hurray!

*looking at honeydew*

The recent anniversary of the Battle of Stalingrad made me wonder how it can be no one's bought Unsuitable Metal. I can't be the only one who thinks it sounds fascinating!

clad in the beauty of a thousand stars
Aw. I didn't realize there was an issue with historical fantasy. The Stratford Man was such fun!

Anyway, congrats on today's news!

Re: clad in the beauty of a thousand stars
I had long thoughts on Kit and Lucifer and the-illusion-that-is-Helen-of-Troy, but having read it four years ago and not having a copy right now I don't want to make a fool of myself trying to remember exactly, so I'll just say that the scene between Kit in the oubliette and Lucifer was amazing. And how it interacted with Faustus without retelling it.

Anyway, just thanks for writing those books!

(Though poor George Chapman, whoever said he'd never be forgiven for daring to finish Hero and Leander was right...)

Poor George. I was pretty hard on Ben and Edmund, too... but Poley and Oxford probably deserved everything they got.
