Passing through a bit late, but I had to add Jes Battis' Occult Special Investigations series to the list. It's urban fantasy set in Vancouver. In addition to queer characters and a female lead, the author has a familiarity with Deaf culture that shows in the books. (My favorite character is Deaf and has spatial & haptic magic, which was a brilliant touch.) Oh, and the central cast is a family-by-choices made up of survivors. Doesn't hurt either.
