we were both cast forth by the same cold hands. and we both moved freely through the shadowlands.

This is the most dramatic weather breaking I remember.

Three days ago: 98 degrees.

Right now: 38 degrees.

HELLO AUTUMN WHAT KEPT YA?

In related (elated) news, I slept better last night than I have since before worldcon. Which might also have something to do with the 11.6 miles I ran yesterday, through the faerie villages of Western Wisconsin. (Seriously. New Richmond has embarked upon a program of encouraging the return of the Fair Folk. By building them housing. I keep finding tiny houses and barns in odd places around town.

See?

Going to walk to the grocery store now and buy the ingredients for a pear-ginger upside-down cake. Also, a latte. Because AUTUMN.

I'm wearing a sweater. It's the BEST DAY EVER. Also, one of the neighbors is making onions in butter for breakfast. I CAN SMELL IT. I WILL FIND THEM.

I support the return of our Fair Folk Overlords.

Also? AUTUMN.

Could it be a town art project like Chicago doing cow statues a few years back?
Acknowledging the local spirits? They're doing it so right.

Fairy houses

All over Iceland there were fairy houses. And not just any fairy houses but fairy turf houses.

Unfortunately, none of the pictures we took of them on our trip have been uploaded yet.

Re: Fairy houses

ooo. Shiny!
I knew tiny faerie doors were a trending thing and also miniature gardenscapes for faeries, but I didn't know we were up to actual housing. (And I can't help imagining human-sized Fair Folk shaking their heads in bemused disgust.)
"Monkeys."
Soups d'oignons. Just sayin'. It's Wisconsin; they'll have something that would pass for a Gruyère.
Indeed. But the boy doesn't eat cows.
I feel the weather break. :) Not being hot is a very good thing in my opinion.

Also, those fairy houses are amazing. :)
