It never fails to amaze me how fast truepenny and I can get rolling on a story when we're batting it back and forth between us. And the damned thing's about to peak out of novelette--14.5 K manuscript, give or take a little. Officially heading into novella territory. But we're more than halfway done with the arc; this is a good thing, because I was afraid we might accidentally spike it over the low end of novel, and then we would have had to graft another novella onto its butt to have something salable.

Of course, she just came up with an idea to kick off a second novella.

*sigh*

Still, it's fun writing, and a very cool world, and it's flowing and falling together beautifully. I am happy.
