Untitled collaboration with [info]truepenny (Wulfcarl. Or Not)

New Words: ~3016 (the other half are [info]truepenny's)
Total Words: ~13000
Pages: 55
Reason for stopping: Wrist hurts. Also, end of scene and bedtime
Mammalian Assistance: Mebd sleeping on the desk, Marlowe providing back, VERY poky Signy and aromatic Paladin
Stimulants: Hidden River Pale Ale, jasmine tea
Exercise: none
Mail: nomail
Sample line: It was high summer; the woods were full of game. The wulfheofodman need not carry much beyond his axe, a knife, his tinder, and dry socks. There's a man with his priorities in order. I would go camping with him.
Books in progress: Ed Sanders, Tales of Beatnik Glory; Nancy Milford, Savage Beauty
Other writing-related work: Finished editing L'esprit d'escalier. Sending it out tomorrow.

It never fails to amaze me how fast [info]truepenny and I can get rolling on a story when we're batting it back and forth between us. And the damned thing's about to peak out of novelette--14.5 K manuscript, give or take a little. Officially heading into novella territory. But we're more than halfway done with the arc; this is a good thing, because I was afraid we might accidentally spike it over the low end of novel, and then we would have had to graft another novella onto its butt to have something salable.

Of course, she just came up with an idea to kick off a second novella.

*sigh*

Still, it's fun writing, and a very cool world, and it's flowing and falling together beautifully. I am happy.

I'm not just amazed -- I'm blissfully awestruck. Gogogo!
