I love everybody's answers to the perfect book question. It's like getting a glimpse of somebody else's love affair--it makes me wistful and contented, all at once. Thank you for indulging me.

In other news: What having a book published is really like.

I think I may be becoming a Stephen Colbert fan.

I know that I am.

Funny enough, the first time I saw him was in commercials for "Mr. Goodwrench" and I wondered who the actor was and his schtick. I only later found out that he had a cable show (I don't have pay-tv).

Colbert and Stewart are two arguments for me actually getting cable, someday.

"All deadlines are homing deadlines."

Too, too true. Having just finished a marathon week wherein I and four family members rampaged through my manuscript, doing a head-to-tail edit in one week, I could feel that deadline screaming towards me, as I ran frantically through my files.
