ETA: It's been pointed out to me that I should mention that the idea of personality analysis based on which hemisphere you're dominant in is nonsense. Sorry. Baseline assumption: I kind of figured that anybody looking at the article would realize that that bit was more or less spurious.

It seems to me that what the illusion demonstrates is hemispheric switching, though, and that some of how it does that is projection. If you're right-handed, in other words, you will tend to imagine her with her right foot as the pivot, because *you* would lead with your right foot.

But as gets discussed downthread, everybody with an undamaged brain switches hemispheres on the fly ALL THE TIME. Every time you put a proper noun in a sentence, for example.
