I lied about the nomail.

Romantic Times has announced their best-of 2006 nominee list. For science fiction and fantasy:

Elizabeth Bear
Tom Piccirilli
Lynn Flewelling
Ellen Kushner
Kelley Armstrong
Karen Marie Moning

...I'm a like real writer or something. How weird is that?

Also, yendi says nice things about Carnival.

Go Bare! ...er...Bear! (Whatever works.) *g*
Whoo Hoo! Congrats! :)
Yays for being a shadow writer no more!
Congratulations! Excellent news!

Woo!

And I knew her when she was a list admin for ********!
Congrats, Liz!
Congrats! I am only dimly aware of Romantic Times, mostly as a cover blurber. PS I often avoid novels with a RT cover blurb, unless I know the author has the potential of writing more than a bodice ripper.

But then I'm a sour old bastard who grew up with boys club sci fi.
Dude, why should I care if you limit your options through silly metrics?

Your loss, after all.
Congrats!!!
...if you are, maybe ELizabeth Peters' Die For Love would be good to read first. (Though I really have no way of knowing if it's any more accurate than Bimbos of the Death Sun, but it's funny, at least.
Um. Very unlikely.
...you are head to head with The Highlander's Bad Touch.

I am pausing to savour the symbolic value of this moment. *g*
Her newest one has wicked fairies.

Go You!!

"Best of" - regardless the source - is STILL Someone's thoughts on the
BEST OF a year.
Congratulations!!
If tat's the one I think it is, despite the title their SFF section reviews some excellent work - like Bujold and Gaiman - and Kushner's name on the list would tend to substantiate that.
Yeah, they've given me a series of really excellent reviews.
Hey, congratulations!
Congratulations!
Cool news! Best of luck with it!
