except i bet he'll have a tough time getting through the eye of the needle

Oh god, Book II of Dust wants to be a lengthy meditation on what drives someone to murder in the posthuman era.

Didn't Alfred Bester already write this, a million years ago?

Yours will have more explosions.
That's true.

At the end of mine, the world blows up.
Leaving a sign floating in space:
Book III
This way
Two planets over
Turn left at the smaller moon
Yes, but *you* haven't written it yet.
Maybe, but very few people are reading Bester these days, so they will all think you came up with it yourself. Besides, presumably your bain is a bit different than Bester's, the times have changed, so something new will likely be added to the conversation. I say go for it.
oops, *brain*, not bain.
Things which have also already been written:

The most likely suspect in a murder turns out to be innocent.
Two people who initially can't stand each other fall in love.
War between Good and Evil.
LOL!

Errr... no?

I mean, I assume you're thinking of the Demolished Man... but if your 2007-penned Posthuman era is indistinguishable from a few telepaths running around in a 1957 book, aren't you doing something wrong?

(Though come to think of it, worst case scenario -- if the world can deal with dozens of crappy Tolkien knockoffs, surely it needs at least one well-written Bester knockoff?)
Bester had psychics. You have nanotech elemtals and giant - fucking - spaceships. I know who I'm voting for.

In other news, he's dead. He don't care.
;-)

No psychics here.
