I appear to have seriously underestimated the size of North America

I've gotten to the bits that need extensive revision, and I'm beginning to suspect that I'm not getting this finished this weekend.

On the other hand, it seems to be coming together nicely.

I just need to figure out how to break the party up.

Oh, got it. Clever me.

And even more interesting thing is how similar the sections I wound up writing twice are. Mostly, it's the same words and sentiments in a different order.

This is why I have such a hard time making substantive changes to things. The story is the story. I'm just digging it out of the rock.

ETA: Actually, I just don't know. I've gotten through the first bad patch, and I have 25 pages to go, but it's knife and dagger work from here, me laddies, and I expect that 25 pages will be more like 40 by the time I am done.

Maybe I will get it done this weekend.

Maybe I won't.

Next week, though, I predict a lot of sleeping and putting book cases together.
