A musing Dalek.

How counterintuitive.

The phone don't ring, no no
And the TARDIS never cycles
Never thought I'd have to pay so dearly
For a Timelord joyride.
For such a long, long Timelord joyride.

We went back in time, forward in time
Sideways in time and in loops sometimes
Introspective like a Dalek

The plots gets worse and companions suffer

The aeons slide by
Should have done, could have done, everybody Jack has done...
Never thought we'd wind up separated
After such a long, long time
Time out of mind

We went back in time, forward in time
Sideways in time and in loops sometimes
Introspective like a Dalek

The plots get worse and companions suffer....
It just... kind of happened.

You know, you barely have to change the lyrics.
While this is hardly the first time I've giggled myself into an asthma attack, it's twice as hard when I'm trying to let someone sleep six feet away. I think I'm about to make a hypsersonic noise. Or burst a sinus.

It's the backing vocals of Eagles-as-Cybermen that's killing me. And the theremin effect on the guitar.

...haven't seen the episode, but this is probably way more fun anyway.

*dies and is dead*

You know, at one point, Big Country were threatening to call their next album "Shoot, Man, How Do You Get That Bagpipe Sound Out Of Your Guitar?"

I wonder if they do theremin, too...
I wasn't exactly thrilled to my toesies by the ep.

(Your icon is so much funnier now that I've seen The Pirate Planet and can hear the line delivered in Tom Baker's tone of voice.

Hee. :)
)
I was more or less entertained, but my standards for Who are pretty low. As long as there is running and monsters and banter and nobody does anything that actively offends me, I cope.

And yes, I think you do need the delivery on that one. It had me on the *floor* when I first heard it.

Mm, yeah. ((grin)) Tom had some bad moments over the years, but when he was on, he was really fucking on.

I actually felt *stirred* when he and the Captain are looking at the remains of the dead planets and Tom, who was minutes earlier goofing around with jellybabies, plays the horror completely straight. Yes, damnit, those blobs of dirt in wobbly plastic shells represent almost inconceviable destruction.

"What's it for?!"

Damn. Such a big idea at the center of it all. And the humor contrasted with darkness.

Even practically embyronic, Douglas Adams kicked ass.
Yes. To all of it.
Daleks are people too.

except not really
Now they're even more like people.
