Okay, I just took a look at Review watch.

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I see "review" and "criticism" as two seperate things.

For example: I could attempt to use Feminist Critical Theory to analyze Blood and Iron. Especially since it has more female movers and shakers than male. I'm certain that means something, right?

But just because I could analyze the story in such a fashion doesn't actually *review* it. I mean, that doesn't let people know (necessarily) that I like it. Or that I didn't like it. Or why. Afterall, in my college days, they specifically didn't *want* to know that information. That's irrelevant for critical analysis. But it's intrinsic in a review.

Or do I miss the point of a review? I'm not saying that there should be nothing more to a review than two thumbs up, or down. But in the end the point of one form is to inform. With the other it is to discuss analytically.

No?
Yes, exactly.

There's a certain amount of mockery involved here.
Okay good. Because I was up until rather late last night reading. So I couldn't be sure it wasn't my brain malfunctioning or something.

Okay, it probably could still be that too.
I demand more postmodernism deconstructing!
