Lots of new folks in the past couple of weeks, and I suspect I know who to
I can't answer every comment, but I do read them all, and I don't object to digression and side conversations in comments, at all. Feel free to introduce yourselves and let me know who you are and what you do.
The only house rule is that the comments section here are not a free-fire zone, and I expect folks to be polite, both to me and other commenters, even or perhaps especially when you disagree with them. Also, I should probably warn you that I'm crabby about unsolicited advice, which is, after all, the primary emotional transation of livejournal. But, you know, I try not to be too much of a twit about that. Because I realize that the compulsion is almost irresistable.
The purpose of this blog is to provide a plate-glass window into the daily life of a working writer, with meta-commentary. Also, you know, I run it like a livejournal rather than a blog, so there's a certain amount of pointless twittering about television shows, politics, world disasters, neurology, books, my friends, my to-do lists, my angst, my wangst, and writing metrics.
I'm a science fiction and fantasy writer. I have a presumptuous cat and a lot of houseplants, and I play guitar really badly and am teaching myself higher math and learning to fall off rocks (technical climbing). Also, I whine a lot about how stressed out and overscheduled I am. And talk about music.
You'll get the hang of it pretty fast, I imagine.
And on that note, well, I'm on deadline. So, you know.
Coffee break over. Back on my head.
(Nice to meet you!)
