Progress notes for 2 March 2008

New words last night: 1292
New  words this morning: 533
Total Words: 6102
Deadline: April 15
Mammalian assistance: After being pestilential before breakfast, the cat has settled in to her usual "Mom is writing" position alongside my right hip.
Reason for stopping: end of scene, need to get ready for company. There will be another sitting tonight, I hope. Writing tomorrow should be interesting, as I've got a lunch date in Northampton and then I'm going to see Lunasa at the Iron Horse with mcurry and arcaedia. But I think I can eke out a couple of laptop hours in a Starbucks during the afternoon.

Darling du jour: "There will be a great deal of work for necromancers."
Tyop du jour: creaking, slicking armor, sipping between rows
Phrases I spent fifteen minutes trying to work out a way to avoid: "took her breath away"
Jury-rigging: had to go back and insert some futuretech! (indistinguishable from magic!) Also, I have the total surveillance problem. Which will require some fun workarounds.
There's always one more quirk in the character:  In which Benedick is laconic!

Other writing-related work: Final revisions on "Knock on Coffins" and the first hundred pages of the All the Windwracked Stars CEM.
Books in progress: I am reading the new Cook's Illustrated, and have two months of SciAm and SciAm Mind to get through.
Exercise: none
Miles to Lothlorien: 262.2
Guitar practice: evynrude is coming over, and there will be gitar
Mail: nomail
Things Chaz/Hafidha ate, contemplated eating, or threatened to eat:

Today's words Word don't know:  eateth, dieth, breaketh
Words I'm Surprised Word Do Know:
Sustenance: seltzer, gunpowder tea with ginger
Mean Things: Girlfriend angst, scalp wounds
The Internet is Full of Things: Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss. A local boy.
