Something else I had forgotten about running--

The sheer luxury of waking up on a recovery day and thinking, "Oh, right, I don't have to go running today."

SCORE!

And now, back to the word mines.

Comments

I'm like that with my torso day -- or rather, days in which I don't do torso. It's like, "gaaahhsoburned and now also PUSH-UPS and -- wait. Waaaait. Glee!"
Lighthouse squats.

God, I hate them.

HATE.

*g*
Oooh, what're those? I haven't heard of them.
They're actually lunges.

You get a small weight--size dependent on your strength--and hold it out at arm's length. Lunge, and while holding the lunge, turn your upper body to its limit of rotation left, and then right. Lunge on the other side. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

Continue until you get to the other side of the gym.

Cry.

Repeat.
...sweet gods.

Yes. Lunges are my kryptonite as it is. I keep wanting to do them the way I'd do them in fencing (with a kick!out and a fall!down) and wobbling and toppling and being generally ineffectual. What you've described sounds even more unpleasant.
It's horrible.

Makes your core strong, though!
you wanna burn some serious calories i can hook you up with the local ladies rugby team :D
Why would I want to do that?
All of a sudden a rugby game broke out between the fighting matches?
well, you'd burn 2x as many calories on average for one. i've actually found it a very good motivator for getting healthier, but then i'm a weirdo :D

as a "rookie," i think rugby has a bark that's worse than it's bite as far as violence/wounds go.
I rock climb, dude.

And team sports are boring.
