criminal minds gideon and morgan gun

i shot him with my shooter, bang bang bang

Well, the Criminal Minds season premier is a week from Wednesday. Which means it's time for the next installement in an occasional series: Who Shot Whom.

Abstract: A season and four fifths after leaving the show, Elle Greenaway is still in first place.

Number of bad guys shot, by character.

Future vigilante killer Elle Greenaway: probably still in first place, (unless she's actually second) despite having left the show in 2x05, with 2.5 (Extreme Aggressor, Charm & Harm (split with Morgan), Aftermath)

Derek Morgan: probably in second with 2.25, or maybe in first with 2.75 (Charm & Harm (split with Elle), Lessons Learned, Open Season (probably split with Prentiss), and Legacy (split with Hotch, Prentiss, and the CotW).

Aaron Hotchner, tied for second with 2.25 (The Tribe, A Real Rain, Legacy (split with Morgan, Prentiss, and the CotW) unless that places him third.

Dr. Spencer Reid, fourth-place finish at 2 (LDSK, Revelations) And two UNSUB lives saved through direct and personal intervention (Elephant's Memory, Tabula Rasa), which feels like it should get a mention. But if I start logging those, I will be here all week.

Emily Prentiss, moving up in the pack with either 1.75 or 1.25, depending on whether one of those offscreen gunshots in Open Season was actually hers, or if all three were Morgan's. The .25 is the other quarter of Charles Holcomb in Legacy, who went down like Frankie. The 1 is the suicide-by-cop in "Lo-Fi," actually the only new addition to the list since 3x09, unless I missed one.

JJ: 1, in Penelope. And RIGHT THROUGH THE FBI SEAL. Hello Symbolism Much? Also, three dogs and my eternal respect. She is 1:1 bullets:kills, at this juncture. So is Reid, incidentally.

Rossi: in second-to-last place with 1, in his very first episode (About Face). Cowboy.

Garcia still doesn't kill people.

Gideon discharged his weapon once. (Psychodrama, a futile shot across an aqueduct.) However, we all know that in the real continuity, the one where Mandy didn't have a say over whether the character lived or died, Jason put that pistol in his mouth at the beginning of this season. The AU is actually what aired. ;-)

And of course, various killings perpetrated by unsubs, victims, the families of unsubs, cops of the week, snipers, random bystanders, and Frank Miller's ego....

We still haven't racked up enough deathtoll to fill out a half-season of CSI: Miami.

Comments

He just accidentally snared a skunk. So there is some Schadenfreude.
Season 3 has been pretty low on Bad Guy Shootings, which pleases me. And still they are all Guys and not Gals.

(of course Gideon blew his head off. Hotch probably mopped the floor afterwards as well.)
Well, Gideon being prone to grand and selfish gestures....

...I think for THAT, Hotch might have hired a crime scene cleanup team.

ETA: Yeah. They're just generally low on shootings in general. Or shootings by the team, anyway. Most of them would generally prefer not to.

Hee. 'Impatient' was a really good choice of word to describe Elle, wasn't it? As in the 'shoot first, ask questions later' kind of impatient, at times...
Um. Yeah. *g*

Re: ot, kinda sorta

Heya. <3

Clarification: you want lj's request for the private/locked information? Hurm. I'm not sure it was ever an official lj thing, but there's an explanation here, which is the most official one I've seen:

This person has a neat little bug on per info page:

(Ooo, I want to read that when it's done.)
Jason put that pistol in his mouth at the beginning of this season.

You know, I read that notion from you before I actually got around to watching the episode -- thank yew, Faire season, and DVR! -- and so when I saw that scene, and the narration of the suicide note *ahem*, my pervy little heart at once leapt headlong into Gideon/Reid land, and agreed. I knew at once just to whom he was writing, and whom he'd expected to come looking for him.

Those two were SO doing it...
And Reid's grieving process following Gideon's ... er... resignation was spot on for that, as well. Talk about fanservice!
...ew. *g* Sorry, but... just ew.
JJ's never going to miss a shot. Reid, of course, will only miss a shot if the person he's shooting doesn't need to die. Because dammit, Reid's trigger finger is directly controlled by parallels and themes.
Also: dvds on Tuesday!
Doesn't Morgan get a mention for saving two unsubs directly. Well not quite unsubs, but definitely the kid from 'Children of the dark' and the unsub from the ep with the hot female CotW. I'm pretty sure there were others.
Well, no, because I said if I really started to do that, I'd be here all week. *g*

Mostly I felt like the one from Elephant's Memory needed a mention, possibly because that scene so directly parallels 3rd Life and Distress.
I'm still not convinced JJ should have got that shot. I want a gun and FBI expert to tell me that a) you could get a perfect shot like that through glass, and b) the FBI wouldn't have safety glass in place to, you know, prevent an unsub from coming in and picking on FBI agents.
I think you need a hobby. *g*

(Actually, shooting through plain window glass is not that big of a deal. And since I'm reasonably certain anybody coming into the Hoover Building has to get past metal detectors, armed guards, and anti-bomb precautions, I doubt very much they would use ballistic glass in interior dividers. That stuff is *expensive.*)
