your body gone, we shall keep the man

I think my vacation might be ending, after sixteen days of basically not accomplishing much except flaking around playing flash games.

I have--brace yourselves!--the urge to get to work. Last night at the Vienna Teng concert* (Actually during the opening act) I got a whole bunch of the structure of the blind cave mermaid story, and a few important lines of "The Horrid Glory of its Wings." And I'm starting to realize that maybe I should turn in The Sea thy Mistress sometime soon if I want to keep being able to pay my rent. Which seems like a valid use of my time.

Yes, publishing is still imploding. World still ending. We're all going to starve. What am I going to do about it?

Quit reading the news and the industry blogosphere and do my job. What else can you do? My anxiety level is high enough without obsessing about things I can't control.

for 2008

Rewrite The Sea thy Mistress
Write S2 Shadow Unit episode: "Lucky Day" (with </a></b></a>coffeeem (started));

for 2009

Revise Chill
Revise One-Eyed Jack and The Suicide King
Shadow Unit S3
Write Grail
Sell some books before I starve

When they get done:

Write "Smile" (Bone Garden) (started)
Write "Snow Dragons"
Write "The Horrid Glory of its Wings"
Write "On Safari in R'lyeh and Carcosa with Gun and Camera."
Write the blind cave mermaid story.

Hmm. Apparently, I don't write science fiction anymore. I wonder when that happened. Or maybe all my SF is going into SU. So to speak.

Except apparently Dust is a Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award Nominee for SF. So maybe I do write SF. *g* (Thank you, RT!)

*There were new songs! There will be a new album! Life is good!
