A real live preacher

talks about homosexuality.

Go, team. I figure if God hated homosexuals, he wouldn't have made so damned many of them.

I've been thinking about grounding and detail, and sensuality as the writer's aid. I read Gardner on this a while back.... (John, not Dozois) on how to learn to observe like a writer. And I remember high school creative writing class lessons on parsing.

As Ruth said, "Be here now." It may be one of the strongest tools of a writer. Feel it. Live it. Use it. Not every detail, but the right detail. The unexpected one.

[Writing is like splitting wood.] Aim past the wood; aim through the wood; aim for the chopping block.
