Book #11, David Anthony Durham, Acacia.

(FFWM # 5, and probably the last one for a while.)

This has a lot of neat worldbuilding, some nasty plot twists, and cannibal Klingons ogres. Also, a lot of particularly nasty wildlife. And I suspect the world has a Hidden Secret, and I suspect I know what it is.

Thematically, it reminds me of a cross between Prince Caspian and "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas."

In other news, I seem to be getting a cold, if the tickle in my throat can bebelieved. because that's just what I need right now.
