ace the wonder dog

As promised, photos of the GRD (and his llama, and my roommate's feet).

He has a teddy bear, too.

We went to Valley Falls park today for a walk, and to see how he did in a setting where there were other dogs around. He was nervous about them, but showed no sign of aggression at all, and was very happy to let me make sure they didn't come near him. He did not know how to jump over streams, so we had to learn, but once I showed him he thought it was a pretty good trick. Also, it only took him two bridges to realize those weren't going to bite him either.

As you can see, he is giant. And ridiculous.

My mom's kennel web page is here. It includes a fair amount of starter information about Briards. Photos of Ace's father, Tazzy, as a young dog are on this page.

Oh, he is a handsome gentleman, indeed!
There's a dog under that hair?
almost a hundred pounds of dog!
now that I have seen a picture, the "giant ridiculous dog" moniker makes sense. :)
Awww, hooray for the Giant Ridiculous Dog!
Yeah, I guess that's probably a dog. Might be a bear, but I figure you'd know the difference :-).

A herding dog, I read. As I understand it, herding dogs that look like wolves are good for moving the sheep around, and herding dogs that look like sheep are good for fighting the wolves when they show up (and then the two kinds help each other out somewhat at whatever is being done). That kinda made me look at the nice friendly Old English Sheep Dogs in a new way.

Together they fight crime!

*ahem*
Sorry.
Aw... what a cutie.
::fangirls GRD::
The ears! Those feet! He's so cute and poofy!! SQUEE!

I'm such a sucker for dogs of all shapes and sizes. *happy sigh*
Oh, good grief. We are saying nothing, but the boys - I have to tell you - are licking their paws and looking sneery. Hee. He's very ... hairy.
Better invest in workshop grade roomba... The old one is doomed... doomed i tell you
Giant Ridiculous Dog! Oh, he looks like a sweetheart.
That is a beautiful dog, and is making me miss my own giant ball of fur. But seriously, he's really cute.

I know it may seem that i'm stalking your journal, but i'm really not. Well, a little, usually for CM updates. But your entries always manage to be funny and kinda interesting for some reason.
Oh, you're totally welcome here. *g*
What a tongue! And funky ears! Sounds like GRD has quite a lot to learn, what with bridges and streams and all. Fun!
He is giant. And ridiculous. As billed.

He looks wonderful. I'm a little jealous, but I'm still loving my kitten, so it's under control.

You must be so thrilled to have him in your home again.
That is a fabulously ridiculous dog. With a face like that he could pretty much wheedle anything out of anyone, couldn't he?
