#30, Shannon Hale, Enna Burning

I really enjoyed the first half of this. The second half made me want to shake the protagonist until some sense rattled into her head.

I've read books like that. I can't call one to mind right now, because I'm falling asleep sitting up, but I /know/ I've read books that made me feel just like that.
Yeah, it's strange. I've been rereading Hale's works through the joy of audiobook (Full Cast Audio, yay). I absolutely enjoyed the Goose Girl again, but I got several hours into Enna Burning and just got so tired of the protagonist. I can't explain just what it was about this story, but I put it aside to listen to some other books for a while. Huh.

Yes, me too.
I did love the 3rd in that series, though (River Secrets)
I read River Secrets before Enna Burning, and the contrast was jarring. But River Secrets and The Goose Girl are thoroughly excellent.
