if it was up to me we wouldn't even stop to sleep

Got up early enough to swim before yoga class, and went for a run afterwards. Man, my wind is shot with winter--I did 2.3 miles, but it was on intervals. Gotta get back out on the road again: climbing and yoga and swimming are good exercise, but they do not build wind the way running does.

I was going to claim this as a day off, but I'm actually feeling the urge to work, so I'm going to run with it. I'm declaring it a day of aimless pottering instead, and eventually I will make butterscotch cupcakes for TBRE's (belated) birthday.

But right now I'm going to drink some coffee and write the scene for "Ligature" that I thought of this morning. And then maybe write that last book review column, and look at some copyedits, and then maybe spin while I listen to the last story and a half in METAtropolis, which I am finally getting around to listening to a year or so after it came out.

Oh, it looks like I'll be at the Massachusetts Library Association conference on April 30 in Hyannis, and also the Tucson Festival of Books March 13-14, with, well, most of the rest of Shadow Unit--Will Shetterly, Emma Bull, Leah Bobet, and Amanda Downum. And possibly Sarah Monette, if we can spring her.

ETA: This didn't get posted because I was distracted--Teeha is having her puppies, and TBRE and I went to deliver food to the labor coaches. So far, all black, three boys and one! giant! GIRL. Who is already pushing her brothers around. (Konigenbriard!) One or possibly two more left.

Tea today: coffee with cardamom
Teacup: Pilot Knob Coffee

170 miles to Isengard. Yeah, I've been slacking lately. It's cold.
