let's get to the point. let's roll another joint.

Day three of the New World Order, and hey, 2400 words. And again, finished early. So now lunch, and taking the dog for a walk, and then Kung Fu Panda and practicing guitar. After that, climbing and cooking dinner and (yay!) new Criminal Minds tonight.

I might even find a few more minutes in which to get some reading done!

In other news, I've been an afficionado of Dundee's ginger preserves for some time. Yesterday at the grocery story I scored some of their new key lime marmalade.

335 / 400 pages. 84% done!

I can tell I've reached the last third of the book (finally) because I've moved from "How the hell am I gonna ever get 400 pages out of this sucker" to "This stuff will never all fit!"

But of course it will fit. It always does.

Just gotta finish this chapter and write a transition to elapse a little time.
In other other news, Rachel Maddow is <3.

I didn't know you practiced guitar. Very cool!
OK, I know what my post-lunch dessert is tomorrow Friday! (this is why I write things down, I'd forget my own head otherwise)

ginger... preserves...?

Oh god, I may never eat anything else ever again. <3

(Well, I'd probably steal a spoonful of the key lime marmalade. And actually they might go well together. But OMG ginger.)
Oooooooh, ginger. This winter I successfully figured out how to make candied ginger. I may have to try ginger preserves next.
In other other news, Rachel Maddow is <3.

Yes. Yes, she most assuredly is.
new word order
Argh! You are catching up with me!

Now I have to hurry up and hit 400 pages tonight.

As a native of Dundee, Scotland, I'm a bit put out that Keiller's "Dundee" brand says "Made in England".
I can tell I've reached the last third of the book (finally) because I've moved from "How the hell am I gonna ever get 400 pages out of this sucker" to "This stuff will never all fit!"

I must just say thank you for posting this sentence, because I was able to tell my Masters student about it at our meeting this morning, and it helped her to process the way she's feeling about her manuscript currently (she at in about the same stage, and panicking...).
Tell her it's the Book Nature.
~g~ I think she would find that comforting.
In unhappy news, the Shadow Unit message boards appear to be down. I keep getting the message "Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later." whenever I try to connect.

In happy news, however, my Local Independent Bookseller has multiple copies of Chill in stock! And in other happy news, they now have one fewer copy on the shelves, for in other other happy news, I just bought one!
Thanks for the heads up on the SU boards. We're on it.

And I hope you like the book!
Hi, sorry to leave error reports here where they're not entirely appropriate, I tried to send you a PM on the SU board themselves but it gave me an error message and I can't tell if it was successful or not! I can read the SU boards when I'm logged out, but as soon as I'm logged in every page of posts except the front page of the boards gives me an error message like this (line numbers and filenames vary depending on what I'm trying to look at):

Database Error: Table './smf/SU1_log_topics' is marked as crashed and should be repaired
File: /home/apache/virtuals/shadowunit/smf/Sources/MessageIndex.php
Line: 457

(The error message for the PM was different (was about being unable to send email to you).) Not sure if this is a problem with my account or if it's a wider problem you guys need to know about, so I figured I should report it in case a report was useful. This has only happened since last night when the board was down.
Thanks. We're aware of the problem, and working on it.
Thanks for the Rachel Maddox link - I don't get msnbc & wasn't aware. Love her forthrightness!
