Just send the Bad Draft of Grail to agent, editor, and a couple of carefully selected first readers who are allowed to see my work at it's absolute worst.

It is a very bad draft. But the plot is all in there, even if the contractors are obviously still at work, and several major plot developments currently exist as [bracket notes: go back and put this in] and it's got 75% too much exposition, and four chapters are only represented as outline notes, question marks, "So who DID kill what's-her-name two thousand years ago?"

We call it a draft because it's full of holes, dammit.

Manuscript stands at 378 pages. And I'm not looking at it again for at least a month.

Now, on to the next thing, which I think is my RoF review column. And then the short stories due in June need to go down, along with A Reckoning of Men, but I might need a little post-novel ennui here first.

Reading ho!
