i do the dirty work of battle hymns

So here I am, doing laundry and making bread and practicing guitar and watching Vampire Mob, and failing utterly to read the book I am supposed to be reading.

And right now, I think I'm going to watch Castle and maybe catch up on some netflix while I repair my guitar case. I think this is what they call a day off. I probably need one.

Pity I don't actually have time for it, but since nothing short of that A Clockwork Orange movie theatre torture rig is going to get me to focus today (see icon), it may be happening anyway. The post-novel ennui is thick and deep and slick as hell.

That reminds me, I need to pack for Viable Paradise. (Some of what I am doing, such as the laundry and stringing the guitar, is VP prep. So I guess it's Like Work.)

Good lord. I actually made it thought the Deadline Hell that Was 2010*.**

I want a pony.

*best illustrated by the following quote:

Rossi: What do you need to crack it?
Reid: The ability to clone myself and a year's supply of Adderall.
Rossi: I'll put on the coffee.

**Yes, I still owe two book review columns, a short story, and two episodes of Shadow Unit, but that's like child's play at this point.
