I made a fancy pie!

Autumn 2010 016

Off to Practice Thanksgiving. Talk amongst yourselves.

That is indeed food porn. Yum!
I'm salivating.
I love the holidays. Only time I can justify the calories of baking. I've learned that homemade pies are a great way to impress people, too, as if it's some lost art.
I know. They're not that hard.
Unless you are my sister, who is convinced that she did not inherit the pie-crust-making gene and has never been able to successfully make a pie. I even gave her the "if you follow the instructions you can't screw it up" pie crust recipe.

It looks amazingly delicious, btw.
Not yet. Give me time.
Apple cranberry. and yes, leaves.

You'll have to come over to my mom's place if you want some.
Are there four and twenty blackbirds baked in that very pretty pie? :)
yum....mmmmmmmm....yum. Wishing you the best of tasting experiences... it looks fantastic!
And here I thought you made a cherpumple.

The difference is, mine tastes good.

That topping look crispy sweet, which is one of my favorite flavors in the entire foodiverse.
Secret: brush with milk and dust with cinnamon sugar before baking.
OMG, minced jigsaw. My favorite!
That is a very pretty fancy pie.
Oh my. That is beautiful. *suppressed drooling*

The only kind I'm making this year is pumpkin, but I'm doing two turkey days; I'm feeding Liz dinner on Tuesday, then going out to the family-of-choice in Hansville on Thursday. (Probably 25 people at that one; I'm taking another pumpkin pie, a gallon of cider that's been simmered with my mulling spices for a few hours, and the obligatory baklava. I've got some cooking and baking to do...)
Ooooh! Purty!
That is a very pretty pie! Looks delicious, too.

I've been informed that the in-laws that are hosting Thanksgiving bought pies from a charity thing. So I'm making cookies, instead.

Yum, Pie...
We'll be driving from San Jose to LA for LosCon on Turkey Day. Makes me want to take a detour. :)
That looks delicious.
Mmmmmm, pie!
Ooh, fancy! :)
