most things start with an onion of some sort in a pan

I spent an inordinate amount of time this morning performing the ritual ablution of fussing with my first sentence. I had the revelation that maybe I am trying to do to many things at once, and I should describe the zero-G swimming pool and then introduce the protagonist. Radical, I know.

Anyway, 1200 words on May Mazer this morning. Now to break for food and dogwalk (if we can find any sidewalks--it's 44 degrees out and melting vigorously) and bank errands and guitar practice and math. And then maybe another writing shift before climbing tonight.
