Took the day more or less off: there was yoga and then breakfast with the batwrangler, before we sent her home, and then a dogwalk, because it was blissful 49 degrees and bucketing down rain ("A nice day!" no fewer than three people said to me today, in all sincerity. And it is. Warm rain melts snow.), and then TBRE and Ripul (one of the awesome climbing boys from the climbing gym) and I trekked down to the wilds of Fairfield to climb at the new rock gym down there (A Carabiner's).
New climbing gym was expensive as such gyms go, and very slick for something that's usual such a bastion of slacker hippiedom. The climbing was really nice, though--lots of routes and problems of varying levels of difficulty, lots of challenge-course type stuff, and oh my god a lot of kids. Definitely much more kid-oriented than the Usual Gym.
I climbed a bunch and now I'm Le Tired and stuffing my face with leftover biryani, and by the way, I have no idea what they did to this biryani or how, because despite the fact that it's delicious, it's also so hot that *I* had to slather in in yogurt. And I like me some spicy food.
Seriously. It's mostly rice. How do you get mostly rice too spicy to eat?
I think I'm going to have some chocolate.
Now I will practice guitar and then do some slush and then possibly write the next scene of the novella that is no longer titled "REZ," since that would be like virtue, and I am at the part of the story where every finished scene brings my appreciably closer to The End.
Freezing rain tomorrow. New England. If you don't like the weather... wait a minute.
Teacup today: thatpotteryguy's medieval mug
Tea today: Just finishing up a cup of this morning's pot of Darjeeling (Arya Estate SFTGFOP1 First Flush from Upton) which is very nice. I'm about to replace it with a green tea of my own devising: Upton gunpowder green, pineapple peels, orange zest, lime zest, and a little lemon and honey. Because sometimes a girl needs something tropical, by cod.
The days are just packed.
