Bookkeeping

Words: 4,146

(some of which is chapterhead quotations, notes, and so forth.) But chapters five and six are done, and I have hit 90 manuscript pages, counting all my usual goofing around at the end of the MS, which is where I keep my notes and outline bits. I found Will's personality today, and the plot has thicked, and another mystery has arrived. I've hit 19.5K overall, and I sense the mad-race-to-get-the-setup-on-paper is ending, and the long, slow grind of the middle of the book is beginning.

Reason for stopping: Time for bed.

Almost forgot

One for the road:

MERCUTIO: Thou art like one of those fellows that when he
enters the confines of a tavern claps me his sword
upon the table and says 'God send me no need of
thee!' and by the operation of the second cup draws
it on the drawer, when indeed there is no need.
