Hell is the Absence of God--

Any of you Christian-type theologians out there who know where and when this concept originated? IE, that any place that was out of the presence of God was Hell? As opposed to the medieval idea of Hell as the inferno, a place of literal 'physical' eternal torment, a la Dante?

Wow.

Wordcount today: 3,849 words. That's Act II, scene xvii, the first half of Act II, scene xviii, and a massive rewrite and expansion of the pivotal, er, theological argument at the end of Act III. I have two and one half more scenes to write in Act II, and possibly another gossipy letter.
Reason for stopping: kaput.

In other news, the mail embargo continues.
