I now what the next scene is, which is good, because I've realized that to follow my outline I would have to do a hell of a lot of padding out of Kit's end of the narrative, and that's just not going to happen.

Elizabethan poets do not live long, as a general rule of thumb. I'm noticing this chiefly because I'm slaughtering an awful lot of young men in their twenties and thirties, it seems. *g*

The protagonists are abandoning the outline! Dive! Dive! Dive!

Okay, that was silly.

But still, it feels about right.

The outline never survives contact with the narrative.

Collectively, we made close to 3.5K on the Unexpected Collaboration today. Along with my 1.2K on SM, I'm going to call it a successful writing day and goof off. I'm not sure yet if I want to play pinball, or read.

I may read another chapter of the Bujold book, I think, since I finished the Fforde. I just like typing Fforde.

I'm trying to retrain myself to read for enjoyment, which is quite the struggle. I think I need to establish two parallel protocols: reading to edit, and reading for enjoyment. Because not only does it slow me down to stop and question choices every couple of lines, but it also makes it damned hard to enjoy a story.
