Progress notes for 4 December 2005:

Undertow

New Words: still none.
Exercise: Gothercise, 20 min; sun salutes
Books in Progress: The Adams-Jefferson Letters; Park Honan; Shakespeare: A Life
Spam name du jour: "Fencing J. Seraph"
Interesting tidbits: Ted Chiang and Hal Duncan continue the great genre debate. What does it say about me that I can find sympathy for both their arguments?

hernewshoes pointed out that there's an Elizabeth Bear entry on Wikipedia. It's listed as "needing cleanup," whatever that means. If any of all y'all would like to go poke at, feel entirely free to do so. (I somehow wouldn't feel right editing my own encyclopedia entry.)

further to the discussion of fantasy, SF, and other things:

nihilistic_kid on mass production and the industrial revolution, and Ted Chiang.

truepenny on the value of evolving definitions.

Any work but the work we're meant to be doing.

3200 words on a book I'm not supposed to be writing, but which mugged me today. (It's a sequel to A Companion to Wolves, and not the sequel we were planning on writing, either, and so utterly useless to me on oh, so many levels.)

Yeah, yeah. I know. If I added that much to Undertow, I'd only have a quarter of the proposal left to write. Sadly, Undertow mocks me and twiddles its thumbs.

I love my freaking job.
