In random good news, "Two Dreams on Trains" was awarded an honorable mention by the Strange Horizons readership.  Go congratulate Dora Goss on her first-place standing. (Go, Dora!)

I see some other familiar names on the list as well.

So, anybody willing to stand me a bet on whether Eastercon will fuck off(1) en masse and to a man at 7:15 on Saturday night to collectively watch Doctor Who?

Cognitive dissonance is watching television in Hampshire and discovering a This Old House marathon, with Norm and Tom and their Yankee accents intact, renovating a rowhouse in Charlestown.

Also, I take back everything good I ever said about British TV. I just discovered Braniac.

1) That's a technical Britglish fuck off, not a generalized Amglish fuck off.

Book 40; John Crowley, Little, Big

Someday, I'm going to have to get somebody to explain certain things about the end of this book to me. I love reading it, but I have yet to figure out what actually happens, or the mechanics behind some things that do happen. I think I get caught up in the prose and miss the clues, or something.

It reminds me, in some ways, of my experience with Cyteen.
