I'm very happy to announce that through the kind offices of ellen_datlow, I have been able to add "Sonny Liston Takes the Fall" to my collection of free online short fiction.

It was originally published in The Del Rey Book of Science Fiction and Fantasy, and I think it's about my best work. Top five for short stories, anyway.

I'm pleased to bring it to you, and I hope you enjoy it.

Here's the Mark Knopfler song mentioned in the story, by the way. It's fabulous. Fair warning, it's an earworm and a half. And it's pretty obvious his main source material was probably also Nick Tosches' The Devil and Sonny Liston.
