writing dust bible 'house of dust"

And then I swept the porch.

Reasons I love my job:

1) I can do it on the couch.
2) In my pajamas.
3) With the dog or the cat snuggled up.
4) Nobody cares if I drink.
5) Or play my music loud.
6) Can't beat the commute.
7) Deadline pressure keeps you focused.
8) On playing Facebook Scrabble.

All right. I have displaced everything possible (well, I suppose I could dust, but that might be carrying things a bit far). I even washed the floor, which desperately needed it. Now I have nothing to do for the rest of the day except work on Chill, right?

Right.

there's machinations and there's palindromes

The way to get through a monumental task is to break it down into segments. Therefor, today's task is to get through the line-edits on the first hundred pages of Chill. We will proceed with this schedule until all the line edits are done (conveniently, this will force me to reread the book!), and then we will begin the substantive edits, which we will get through one day at a time until they, also, are done.

This always goes faster than I fear it will. I remind myself of that now.

Also, I have two long plane flights ahead of me and a backup battery. I'm pretty much unstoppable on those. *g*

you can't keep the sky from falling anyway

Oh, yeah--for anybody who has too much time on their hands, as usual, I am/have been/will be liveTwittering the Chill revision process at the predictable place.

Also, you know, if you are new here, feel free to introduce yourself, or not, and to comment, or not. I don't always answer all comments, but I read 'em.
