she came from distant waters where northern lights explode.

2105 words today on the Gotham Jazz proposal, and it's done except for the synopsis. Which I think I will try to write tonight or possibly tomorrow. Surely I can come up with something that looks like a coherent plot by then. Especially since it just has to be a plot, not necessarily the plot.

I am the Goddamn Batman. And also the Kumquat Haagen-Daas.

Monday, I have to start my fairy story. And then when that's done, the proposal for May Mazer and the Ghost Ship. Whee!

But first, various things involving scambling around on icy roofs, trying not to get killed.

So here's what I did today:

Nice to know those climber/caver skills have some practical use.

(Yeah, I know my sledgehammering technique could be better, but you try it while balancing out at the end of a belay rope on an ice-covered roof.)

When we ran out of John Henry jokes, we switched to "If I had a Hammer."

Sing it, Vienna.

I was just saying on Twitter that I need a Tom Waits cover of this song. Or Iggy Pop. Or Marianne Faithfull. Something like that.

So that's 615 words of synopsis, and--

I got what I got. I'm calling that a proposal, then.

Tomorrow is a rest day.
