new england quiet before the work

there's no such thing as a winnable war. it's a lie we don't believe anymore.

There's quite a storm coming over. It announced itself with a peal of thunder like Thor banging aluminum trash cans together, and now it's bucketing down--the radar is all reds and yellows. Wonder if it will dry out enough to go climbing this afternoon after the Memorial Day Thing at netcurmudgeon and ashacat's.

Suspect I won't be taking a d-o-g on a w-a-l-k this morning.

Given that post title, I am very relieved to realize that the storm you're talking about is not a metaphor.
Hee. *g* Quoted for truth, mostly.
Does spelling still work with the GRD, or is this merely symbolic? We have resorted to "going on a thingy" or "thingying the beast" because we say "thingy" enough in other contexts that it trips her up. She can spell w-a-l-k but also p-e-r-a-m-b-u-l-a-t-e, at which point we decided that another direct synonym or spelled synonym was not obfuscation enough.
We do not discuss it, unless we mean to do it. "Out" is also a forbidden word...
Here too. Also "backyard." We are trying to desensitize her to "gophers" so we can discuss college hockey....
Stoooorm! We haven't had a good storm yet, here in Boston. I'm envious. :-)
