you're someone i can't help betray.

Today is a Rest Day.

I can tell, because I went to bed at 9:30 last night, and didn't get up again until 8:00 this morning.

Sometimes, the meat puts its foot down.

Oh, I mean I'm still going climbing. But the dawn run was subsumed by zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I'm sure this means I'm building muscle tissue...

There are days when my children eat everything in sight, and then fall asleep at 6:30 in the evening. They are children, and their growth in some productive and muscle-building manner is more ... assured, I suppose, than it is for adults who are working out. But I expect similar principles hold true.
If only I could wake up an inch taller...
When my son was middle school age, there would be times I'd look in at him sleeping and swear I could literally see him growing. Very weird. In talking with other mothers I was friends with at the time, though, it wasn't an uncommon phenomenon. Collective imagination or for real? The mind does odd things sometimes.

Listening to the meat is good. I started hooping and spinning poi over the weekend and kinda went crazy with it...bruises up and down my shins, my arms...yeah. Probably a good thing I have an enforced travel break coming up. I'd take the poi except I'm a wee bit concerned about traveling with it, and there'll be no time.

(Worldcon...and I am antsy because there's also a major reined cowhorse/working cowhorse show going on in Reno at the same time, with Big Names that it might be my only chance to see in action. Maybe I'll try to drum up an expedition because sans car....a bit much to do on my own. Longsuffering DH will probably do it, but I'd hope I could lure a few fans for the possibility of seeing Les Vogt in action. Dang it, should have checked sooner for more detailed plans)
Heh. You sound like you're about as good at rest days as I am.
