bad girls mae west

my love is fifty feet tall.

You probably don't want to know what I just came up with a cure for premenstrual eat-the-universe no-really-i-am-GALACTUS munchies, but I'm going to tell you anyway:

Salty popcorn with bittersweet chocolate chips tossed in while hot.

Discipline? What Discipline? Hey, it's whole grain.

Stand back. You might be next. ;-)

Nom. Time to go shopping.
That really sounds good!
Not only can I think of worse things to eat at such a time, I have eaten them.
mmmmm. *shares*

It did the trick, too. Cheddar and apples and wheat thins just were not cutting it tonight.
You are an evil genius.
Me and Dr. Reid, baby. ;-)
I ... Oh....

My goodness.

Now throw in some peanuts, too.

I also blame you for the popcorn/chocolate fix my stomach demands.
I don't like peanuts. Cashews?
OOooo..... that's going on the list of things to try....
I was satisfied with my kettle korn until this!

Now I will have to pick the chips out of the Chips Ahoy. Oh hey....
Yes! Yes indeed! Salt + Sweet = PMS cureall X3~
Holy crap.

Certainly trumps my go-to, Cheez-its and chocolate milk.
NOM. That beats my latest favorite popcorn topping. (Za'atar. Which is pretty fantastic on popcorn.)
Ooo. I have some harissa spice. I bet that would work well too.
Somehow that sort of reminds me of something my evil fiance made a few weeks ago - kettle corn, made the old fashioned way in a pot on the stove, substituting bacon grease for 1/2 to 2/3 of the regular oil, with a light sprinkling of a smoky salt at the end.

I told him that had to be a VERY VERY occasional treat, not a regular thing.
Mmmmmm I love popcorn + melty chocolate.

When I'm sans choco chips, I'll sprinkle hot cocoa mix over my warm popcorn. Not quite as awesome as melty chips, but lovely in its own way.
Before I became allergic to corn (weep for me), a staple answer to the same problem was: air-popped popcorn. Melt together some butter and olive oil, with some crushed garlic. Stir in some tabasco. Drizzle the liquids on the popcorn. Sprinkle on red star nutritional yeast and a little parmesan. Salt if you want to gild the lily. All the iron and vitamin B my body needed, plus good fats and starch.

Tonight I settled for roasting some beets, potatoes and peppers with olive oil, thyme from the garden and a pinch of salt.
That sounds amazing. Of course, I am no longer allowed to eat popcorn, so I am sad now. (I tend to self-medicate with brownies and soft steak tacos, these days.)
