Okay, this is a meme worth memeing:

from yonmei & supergee

Some of the people on my friends list, I hardly know. Some of you I think I know well, but I'm sure have the capacity to surprise me still.

So: comment and tell me something about you. Something random, or something that you think is the key to your entire personality. Yes, even the people I've known for years. Yes, even the people I've never talked to.

I think you know this. But when I was 5 my father told me that I was white. And I have never recovered from that.
Twice in my life have I had to break in to a house of my own because of compound stupidity with regard to where keys were. On one of these occasions it was in a rented house next door to the county police station. I didn't get caught either time.
Only twice?

*g*

I had to do it from a porch roof in an ice storm once...
I chose my college on the basis of the sci fi club and its propensity to re-enact the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in the cafeteria.
When I lived in North Carolina, what I missed most was stuffed grape leaves.

Now that I'm in Queens, I can get them in five pound cans, but I can't get them at four in the morning any more the way I could in Manhattan.

I do, however, have a 24-hour source for halal goat.
Between 1 Oct 2001 and 1 Oct 2002 I visited 3 continents (4 if you include extended periods between planes at Changi Airport, Singapore) and 5 different countries, not counting the UK (6 if you include Singapore), one of them 3 times.
Every now and then, I get nostalgic for the chocolate no-bake cookies people used to make in the Indiana town where I grew up. I've made cookies from a hundred different no-bake recipes over the years, but I've never created any cookies that taste like those did. Possibly because nothing real ever compares to the taste of foods from a childhood memory. *g*
I've always been a pragmatist. When I was four years old, an epidemic of pinworms swept our nursery school. My mom says that I asked how I got them, and that she told me that my thumb-sucking made it impossible to avoid.

I apparently decided then and there that no amount of comfort from thumb-sucking was worth another case of pinworms, told her I was never going to suck my thumb again and folded my blanket up and tucked it away into the trash-can without a tear.

My mom did rescue the blanket, but she's since had a healthy respect for my pragmatism and willpower.
My teacher in Primary 1 and Primary 2 was a Mrs Grant. Her husband wrote the Littlenose novels which were also a BBC cartoon series.
I play cello.
I spent two and a half years in an emotionally abusive relationship, and I'm still learning to stand up for myself instead of cower.
They say every person is born either a Platonist or an Aristotelian. I was born a Platonist, but am an Aristotelian by later conversion.

These two natures in me are constantly at war. BIFF! BAM! POW! SOCK!
Oh, don't make me LAUGH like that while my throat hurts.
I used to take a paper grocery sack to the library to carry my books home in.

And I needed it.

Though Mom had to explain to some librarians, the first couple of times, that yes, I would really read all those books. Sometimes she'd unfold her own bag and they'd catch on. :)
A Pokemon episode once moved me to tears.
I'm currently teaching myself Latin so I can read the copy of Winnie Ille Pu that I treated myself to, oh, 8 or 9 years ago.
I have a crush on Monica Bellucci
