Bear's Cold Cure

to a teapot, add--rose hips, red peppers, chopped ginger, ecinacea, and hibiscus flowers. Also, your favourite herbal tea. Fill the rest of the teapot with boiling water.

Drink it all with honey and lemon. (If it's after noon, you can add whisky too. *g*)

Make another pot.

Not only does it not taste half bad--sweet, sour, and spicy--but it's the most stunningly lovely red color you ever did see. And it clears the sinuses and soothes the throat and keeps you hydrated, too. (Unless you put the whisky in it: then there is no hydrating effect.)

We also recommend pickled garlic. And fistfuls of vitamins.

I've got a fab tea which you should add to that recipe - Upton tea's red groat tea -maybe as a substitute for the rose hips, as the red groat has them, too, IIRC. The tea has a gorgeous ruby color, slightly tart flavor and is apprently the most vitamin-c rich tea you can lay your hands on. I drink the stuff by the gallon, hot and cold.
I love Upton Tea teas.

The cinnamon chocolate one is way yum, too.

Teas

I'm glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. Sounds like the flu that is infesting our nation this year.

I drink a similar tea: Celestial Seasonings Lemon Zinger

It's the only herbal tea I drink, and I can drink quite a bit of it. It helped me out with my Advanced Cold recently. Now I want another cup of it.

Re: Teas

I love the Zingery teas.... lemon and the old standby classic Red as well.
