ace the wonder dog

it seems what's left of my human side is slowly changing in me.

I am a sucker for the "Love song to my dog" subgenre of popular music.

Let me play you a few...

Norah Jones: Man of the Hour

Led Zeppelin: Bron-Y-Aur Stomp

Jane Siberry: Everything Reminds Me of My Dog

And for balanced representation, a Jethro Tull song about one of Ian Anderson's (many) cats...
The Mouse Police Never Sleeps

Ain't no companion like a blue-eyed merle.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go take my best friend for a walk...

I will play too!

Me and the dog down at the reservoir. I love this song with so much love.

I am so impressed by how far her love for her dog extends. I mean, I love my dog, but this behavior is not one I would have thought to put in a song like this.

This is actually directed at a sheepdog. Which makes me like them even better.

Re: I will play too!

Yeah: I forgive Led Zeppelin all kinds of things for "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp."

Songs by dogs about people?

Yes! The Mouse Police Never Sleeps -- I love that whole album -- weathercocks, cats and heavy horses. What more could you want?
I love "Man of the Hour." Mostly because if I was ever in a situation where two guys said "It's him or me," I would totally say "screw you both" and go get a dog.
Best dog ever. *g*
Not exactly a love song, but I've always been fond of Cheryl Wheeler's Howl At The Moon
The opposing viewpoint is in the Kate Long song 'Cat', wherein the cat informs us "if I was ten times larger, I would eat you".
