I am about to prove, I think, what a complete and utter airhead (if not outright jerk) I am.
I *know* I read a short story of yours with One-Eyed Jack, but could not remember where. So I went back to my 365ShortStories community here on LJ, and found this, from an entry in 2011:
127. King Pole, Gallows Pole, Bottle Tree by Elizabeth Bear Editor Datlow ends the anthology perhaps even stronger than she started it. This Elizabeth Bear story captures the essence of Las Vegas, and begs the question: If what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, what happens when the city itself can't remember what happened? The story introduced me to Bear's character Jackie and Stewart, aka One-Eyed Jack and the Suicide King: lovers who are also the genius loci (or souls) of Las Vegas. Before this, I was thoroughly unfamiliar with Bear (looking back I see I've read one other short story by her, "And The Deep Blue Sea," which I enjoyed), but according to at least one other review this story is connected to her novels. Now I'm intrigued. I asked Bear on Twitter if there was a novel with Jackie and Stewart, and it sounds like she has one in the works. I know I'll buy it.
