god moves on the water like casey jones

So I let the Magic Smoke (TM) out of my 15-year-old Osterizer a few months ago, and have been suffering a resultant smoothie deficit. Well, as a reward for a pretty decent short story sale the other day, I splashed out on a new Breville blender (basically, a poor man's Vitamix--less than half the price and rated almost as well).

You guys.

The things this blender does to kale. The things it does to rolled oats.

My enemies had better watch their backs, is all I'm saying.

We am gonna liquefy some shit.

Seriously. My teeth just became superfluous.

I got a Ninja blender a couple months ago. So many smoothies!
I like kale. Kale is an awesome vegetable, especially roasted and served with garlic and balsamic vinaigrette.

But what is the deal with kale and smoothies? It seems to be this year's magic vegetable. Is it just that once it's whomped in a blender it's fairly neutrally flavored -- and full of vitamins? Or is there something more that I've overlooked?
Yeah. It's full of nutrition and doesn't add a lot of calories. And for me, when I'm trying to cram healthy food into a ridiculous schedule, whomping it in a blender means we're less likely to go "fuck it, I'll just have peanut butter toast." *g*

Likewise, dumping a little rolled oats into my smoothie. Fiber and whole grains and healthy carbs!
Magic Smoke (TM)

you know when it releases its electromagnetic soul to the heavens and it brushes by the smoke detector that it has lived a good life.
That's what the oatmeal is for!
Er, so what's the deal with rolled oats?
I throw them in my smoothies.
My enemies had better watch their backs, is all I'm saying.

Well, that's an unexpected solution to the Hugo awards blow-up.
which version is it? The still crazy expensive in this land Boss Velocity?
A hemisphere. Cooks Illustrated recommends.
