"Some Scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe."

M'ris on Spec Fic, How Come?

My answer? Well, 'cause I like it. I write other stuff too (Poetry, YA, mystery, historical, even mimetic fiction on occasion) but I like SFF. Because SFF lets you break things in a big way, and test systems to destruction.

And that's cool..

And saying that there aren't any good writers in SFF is as patently untrue as saying there aren't any good musicians playing rock and roll. Dude, my tastes are Catholic. But they are in fact somewhat refined.

Got myself caught up on inputting paper edits to the file, so I am slightly less than one-third done with the Stratford Man revision pass. Also went for a half-mile walk and then a two-mile walk today. Despite a crappy day at work.

Happy now. And I smell popcorn.

Amen!

And in a perfect world, genre work would not be dismissed by the cultural literati. (Consider the bad reviews of Lethem' s Fortress of Solitude since its plainly a genre work.). Or the idiotic statement in the British press that until recently, Rowling had never won an "Adult book award" (ignoring and forgetting her Hugo...).
