You were my cherry popsicle. You'll never ever know.

I got my first-ever personal rejection from Asimov's today. I feel like I've accomplished something, dammit.

I also have the page proofs for the Zeppelin anthology, a thousand words of Worldwired to write, and chapters to crit for Amanda and Kat.

Guess I better stop goofing around huh?

Also, I have a new email address-- matociquala at gmail dot com. I plan to use that one mostly for livejournal comments and mailing list stuff, and keep the popmail accounts (bear at tuginternet dot com and bear at elizabethbear dot com) for personal and business correspondence. But, you know, it all goes to the same place.

More or less.

Wow. You got a gmail account. I've been lusting after one for quite a long time now, but no luck. Everyone seems to get an invite to have one but me, when people are giving them out.

How do you like it so far?
If I get any codes, I'll be sure to let you know!

It's, um. It's a web-based mail client wit ha lot of storage. The threaded messages thing is neat, but I'm not sure how much it will actually help with long-term organization, and I'm very annoyed that there doesn't seem to be any way to download popmail into the client, the way you can with Yahoo.

But it's not bad.
There's the labels thing to help organise. Although, it is weird to not even have the choice to do directories.

I think it takes two weeks before you get your first invite to hand out, but that's from an unreliable source. :)
I would really appreciate that. You'd think writing for places like BYTE and WIRED would get me an invite, but every single person I've asked so far has snubbed me, never responding, including all my press contacts. It's been very weird and very disconcerting. This has been going on for months, and it's actually gotten to the point we're I've gotten depressed about it and feeling a bit paranoid.
What's the difference between personal rejections and all other rejctions?
They're not form letters.

Ooh, a gmail account. I'm happy Yahoo has decided to up its quota to 100 MB.

Congrats on the personal rejection!
