"Dr. Evil vs. Pat Sajack." And that's all I'm gonna say about that.

And a farewell to Gordon Cooper and Rodney Dangerfield. These things don't actually happen in threes, but we are a pattern-seeking species.

In other news, the new book is demanding to be written again. Not a word written in a week and a half or so, so I do not really mind. And Patrick Macnee is teh exceeding hotness for a man of 82. And that's all I'm saying about that.

One-Eyed Jack

New Words Today:: 1,226, mostly a conversation between the American and the widow.
New Words Yesterday:: 1,313, some of which was outline and some of which was me extending the last scene I'd written because I realized I was stuck because I'd resolved a bunch of tension and hadn't introduced the hook.
Wordcount:: 45,158
Pages:: 196 of 203
Reason for stopping: sleepy, and feeling pretty good about having actual new words on the actual new book.
Mammalian Assistance: Marlowe poking around on my desk and napping under my chin.
Stimulants: rooibos, club soda with wintergreen altoids
Exercise: *cough* what's that?
Mail: nomail
Tyop du jour: Such parently false ingenuousness
Books in progress: Ed Sanders, Tales of Beatnik Glory; Nancy Milford, Savage Beauty; Bruce Sterling, Heavy Weather
Books finished: Kim Stanley Robinson, Forty Signs of Rain; Matt Ruff, Set This House in Order

Janet Leigh

That makes three...

Re: Janet Leigh

Yeah, she was the one I was thinking of.
My great-grandmother: "Deaths always happen in threes."
My uncle Phil: "Of course they do, Pearl! If you stop counting at three and start over again! Gahhhhhh!"
I love your family. *g*
Tyop du jour: Such parently false ingenuousness

Hee! You make me smile.

That's what I live for, really.
