That's Marianne Faithfull singing backup. It's got to be. Okay, now I need to actually know what song this is, even if it does sound like every other Metallica song ever recorded except "Nothing Else Matters" and "Unforgiven."

Guys, find a new chord progression.

But whoot, Marianne!

Have you heard the St. Anger cd? It actually has some songs w/ different melodies (i think). Took a while to grow on me, but I like it now.
I haven't heard that one, actually. Do you like it?
I like it, but it is very different (and make sure the first time you listen to it isn't on blown out car stereo). The drums are very metalish, enough so that some say it sounds like they are beating on kitchen pots. It is a drastic departure in sound for them, so I think it just takes time to get used to it from what your expectations are.

That said it is an excellent loudish angry cd. Less heavy than say Rob Zombie but harder than Godsmack. Worth a try if you can find it at a listening station or have a decent hard rock station near you.
It is Marianne Faithfull; song is "The Memory Remains", off of Reload.

(One of my college buddies was a Metallica nut, and she did a Sunday-morning all-metal show on Iowa State's radio station. So, I heard a lot of Metallica that year...)
Huzzah! Thank you.
Have you heard "Vagabond Ways"? oooo, good album.
Gawd, there's this radio station in town that plays a Metallica song every 45 - 60 minutes. Literally. And they only play about 4 songs; One, Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters, and Wherever I May Roam. I made a joke about it to a girl at work: "All Metallica, all the time!" So now whenever I'm not there and a Metallica song comes on she calls my voicemail and holds the phone up to the radio.
A local station had, for several years "Mandatory Metallica" where they'd play a Metallica song at least once an hour.
You guys live in Vegas?

Napster... BAAAD

Sellout assholes.
