And the Deep Blue Sea

My Faustian "Damnation Alley" (and note that's "Damnation Alley," not Damnation Alley--very important distinction) riff, "And the Deep Blue Sea" is live at SCIFICTION.

If you felt like reading something today.

Wonderful story... again you write beautifully. I'm glad Ellen took it.
Thank you. *g* Of course, now that it's posted, I find three instances of word rep I'd like to change.

Ah well.

*pretends she meant to do that*
Rock on, sister!
Wow. *gapes in awe*

Just fucking wow.
Aw, shucks, ma'am. *blush*

I like this one a lot, actually. My best last line so far.
It kept me from going into work on time. No great loss, given that I couldn't get in anyway, but great story.
Well, thank you! And sorry about the work thing. But, um. Not very. ;-)
Slightly inspired by that--I lifted the sparrow thing from her, I think (good artists are influenced, great artists steal *cough*)--and Faust (obviously), and living in Las Vegas.

And the obvious Hell Tanner influence. (We don't even TRY to deny the Zelazny influence around here. We just roooollllll in it.)

Although, you know, the Chernobyl pics on her site were real. And she did have a knack with narrative.

Should have been a fiction writer. *g*
A Faustian Tale. Zelazny influences. Roaring good narrative.

I want to be you when I grow up.
And you have snow leopards. With which I am obsessed. *g*
Oooh I'm going to go pump right now so I'll print it and read it.

Did I ever tell you how much I enjoyed "One-Eyed Jack and the Suicide King" and how much I found myself thinking about it afterwards? Anyway. I did and I do.
Thank you, Haddayr. You hadn't, and it's lovely to hear.

Will you be at WisCon this year?
Oh, what A WONDERFUL story--thank you!
Thank you. *g*
Aw, shucks, ma'am.
Oh thank you for sharing that. I'd love to shake answers out of you for the questions it gives me, but I think I'll just make up my own instead.

The imagery is amazing in this, all the places connected by the horrors we created.

You really like looking sideways at your audience, don't you? I read your stories and go what? oh, that. Yes. and feel like I've gone from the rube to the shill in the audience. Or something like that.

::basks in the good-story glow::
Thank you!
Awesome, I still have the taste of old gasoline in my mouth.
Thank you!
Thank you!
A lovely and gorgeous story worthy of many more superlatives...
Thank you!

Once more, sans tyops

May you never be at a loss for words, a story to go with them, or a publisher to print them, and may you be in heaven half a hour before the Devil knows you're dead. IOW, thanks.

Re: Once more, sans tyops

I'm taking that blessing to heart.
